Infertility Evaluation for Both Partners

An Overview:

Infertility evaluation is the crucial first step in understanding the underlying factors contributing to difficulty in conception. At our clinic, we offer comprehensive assessments for both partners to identify any potential issues that may be hindering fertility.

For Women:

During the evaluation process for women, a series of tests and assessments are conducted to evaluate various aspects of reproductive health. This typically includes:

01. Medical History:

A detailed medical history is taken to understand any past illnesses, surgeries, or reproductive issues.

02. Physical Examination:

A thorough physical examination may be performed to assess overall health and identify any physical abnormalities.

03. Ovulation Assessment:

Tests such as basal body temperature charting, ovulation predictor kits, and blood tests may be used to evaluate ovulation.

04. Hormonal Evaluation:

Blood tests may be conducted to measure hormone levels, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, and progesterone.

05. Pelvic Ultrasound:

A pelvic ultrasound may be performed to assess the health of the reproductive organs, including the uterus and ovaries, and to look for any structural abnormalities.

06. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG):

This specialized X-ray procedure is used to evaluate the shape of the uterine cavity and the patency of the fallopian tubes.

For Men:

Male infertility evaluation involves assessing the quantity and quality of sperm. This may include:

01. Semen Analysis:

A semen sample is collected and analysed to evaluate sperm count, motility (movement), morphology (shape), and other parameters.

02. Hormonal Testing:

Blood tests may be conducted to measure hormone levels, such as testosterone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH).

03. Physical Examination:

A physical examination of the genital area may be performed to check for any abnormalities or issues.

04. Genetic Testing:

In some cases, genetic testing may be recommended to identify any genetic factors contributing to male infertility.

Combined Evaluation:

Once the individual evaluations for both partners are complete, the findings are reviewed to determine the most appropriate course of action. In some cases, further testing or diagnostic procedures may be recommended to gain additional insights into the underlying causes of infertility.

Personalised Treatment Plans:

Based on the results of the infertility evaluation, personalised treatment plans are developed to address the specific needs and circumstances of each couple. These treatment plans may include lifestyle modifications, medication, assisted reproductive techniques such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF), or surgical interventions, depending on the identified factors contributing to infertility.

Throughout the evaluation process and treatment journey, our dedicated team provides compassionate support and guidance to help couples navigate the challenges of infertility. We are committed to empowering our patients with the knowledge and resources they need to achieve their dream of parenthood.
