An Overview:

The IVF Process:

06. Embryo Transfer:

After a few days of culture, one or more embryos are selected for transfer into the woman’s uterus. This is typically performed using a thin catheter inserted through the cervix, under ultrasound guidance.

07. Luteal Phase Support:

Following embryo transfer, medications may be prescribed to support the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, ensuring optimal conditions for embryo implantation and early pregnancy.

08. Pregnancy Test:

Approximately two weeks after embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is conducted to determine if the IVF cycle was successful. A positive result indicates the possibility of pregnancy, while a negative result may necessitate further evaluation or consideration of additional treatment options.

Success Rates:

The success of an IVF cycle can vary depending on various factors, including the age of the woman, the quality of the eggs and sperm, and any underlying infertility issues. On average, the success rates for IVF range from 40% to 60% per cycle for women under 35 years old, gradually decreasing with advancing maternal age.
